It seems like nowadays we live in a world where everything we say is analyzed. Where every little thing you say seems to offend someone in some ridiculous way. People these days seem to find a way to complain about anything and everything. To me it appears that nobody can tell a joke without being attacked for offending some small group of people. For example, last week on the radio there was a story of how another radio host told a joke on the air. The joke was: "Why did the driver throw a brick of butter out of his car window? Because he wanted to see butterfly." To be frank that joke wasn't remotely funny. Hard to see how that joke could offend anyone right? Wrong. The radio host was attacked on Twitter for offending the transgender and homeless community. HOW?! There was no reason given in his apology for how it offended transgender people. However, apparently this joke offended the homeless community because throwing butter out the window is a waste of food that could be used to feed the homeless. Are you serious? First of all, it's a joke and no butter was actually thrown or "wasted". And secondly, what homeless person would want to eat a whole brick of butter? But it doesn't just stop at jokes. Anything you say seems to offend someone in some ridiculous way. Tonnes of internet videos and pictures seem to be offending everyone. If you ever look in the Youtube comments section on any video, you are guaranteed to find at least 10 people that have taken a harmless video personally and made it out to be something that it clearly is not. Stop taking everything seriously and finding reasons to complain or be offended. Learn to laugh at a joke because that's all it is, a joke.

Ben Affleck as the next Batman? Is that really a good idea. That seems to be a common question floating around the internet these days. In late 2013 when Ben Affleck was announced as the next Batman in 2016's Superman v. Batman: Dawn of Justice, it was not very well received. After his previous role as the superhero Daredevil was criticized by critics galore, most people didn't think it was a smart casting choice by the movies director, Zack Snyder. Everyone wanted to see Christian Bale return to the role as Batman/Bruce Wayne after his stellar performance in Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy. However when asked on the subject, Bale said he wanted the Dark Knight trilogy to stay as its own universe. In my opinion I think we have to wait and see how Affleck does. I think its to soon to judge him in the character role just because he played one other bad role. I personally didn't think Daredevil was as horrible as critics said, but it certainly could have been done much better. I worry that Affleck won't be able to carry the dark tone that Christian Bale's Batman did. I suppose we'll just have to wait and see in 2016. Superman v. Batman: Dawn of Justice comes out March 24 2016. Do you think Ben Affleck will make a good Batman? For those of you that haven't heard, DC comics is going to be having their own cinematic universe. In 2014 and 2015 DC comics announced a line up of their upcoming films and release dates for the films. These movies and there release date are as follows: - Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) - Suicide Squad (2016) - Wonder Woman (2017) - Justice League Part One (2017) - The Flash (2018) - Aquaman (2018) - Shazam (2019) - Justice League Part Two (2019) - Cyborg (2020) - Green Lantern (2020) With 11 movies set to come out within the next 5 years DC seems to know what they want in terms of a timeline for the movie. After the Superman v. Batman movie comes out next year it will be followed with Suicide Squad and the Wonder Woman movie. This will give DC a chance to introduce their characters and then bring them all together in the first part of the Justice League movie. After that, it appears all other characters will get their own stand alone movie. With big name actors such as Will Smith and Ben Affleck it's hard to see how these movies could really be that horrible, however just because the actors have a good history in films, it doesn't mean the movie can't go wrong. The question when it comes to these movies though is will they be any good or be able to compete with Marvel's ridiculously successful cinematic universe. DC does not have the best history on the big screen. Aside from movies like the first 2 Superman movies, Batman, Batman Returns and Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed Dark Knight trilogy, their movies have not been very well received. Man of Steel was good but it could have been done much better. I hope that the upcoming sequel, Batman v. Superman, will be done much better. I'm really excited to see how DC does with their new cinematic universe and I hope they don't ruin it as they have for so many other movies. Childhood obesity. Possibly one of the world's largest issues. It seems to be a huge problem all over the world although especially in the United States. In 1980 the percentage of children in the U.S that were obese was only 7%. In 2012 it rose to 18%! In 2012 it was also found that 1 third of children were obese or overweight. The difference between being obese and overweight is that when you are overweight you have an excess of bones, water and body fat. When you are obese it just means you have an excess of body fat. overweight. http://www.cdc.gov/healthyyouth/obesity/facts.htm Being obese can also cause a lot of health problems. Health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and bone and joint problems are common among children that are overweight/obese. In my opinion the main cause of childhood obesity is parents not having any control over their children's dietary habits. It also rises from parents being to lazy to cook a decent meal for their kids so instead they just go and buy them McDonalds or some other form of fast food. The rise in childhood obesity is not only in the U.S though. Studies have shown increases in childhood obesity in places such as China, Canada and Australia. Another problem that arises is how unhealthy and processed our food is nowadays. Everything we eat seems to be full of some sort of preservative or tonnes of salt to make it taste better. These preservatives are slowly killing us and hurting the future of our planet. Although it seems to be a giant , unsolvable issue, simple things can be done to prevent childhood obesity such as eating healthier, buying more natural foods and cutting out foods that don't contain loads of chemicals and salt.If parents would just start feeding their children better childhood obesity would not be such a big issue. Today I will be comparing the two major comic book developers: Marvel and DC. I will be comparing them based on 5 categories: Heroes, Villains, Movies, TV shows and Video Games. A point will be rewarded to whichever publisher exceeds in the given category. I will not be comparing the comics themselves because there is far too many from each publisher to compare. To start we'll look at the heroes each publisher has. Everybody has heard of DC's Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. And everyone has also heard of Marvel's Spiderman, Iron Man and The Hulk. Each publisher has a unique array of heroes that the opposite does not. DC has unique heroes like Green Lantern and Cyborg that have powers not seen in Marvel. However Marvel has unique characters like Iron Man and Thor that have powers that no DC hero has. In my opinion the two publishers both do heroes very well so I reward a point to each. Next we have villains. I think that most comic book fans would see who the clear winner is but for those of you that aren't comic book fans, I'll explain. Marvel has some great villains like Loki, Venom, The Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus and quite a few others. However they can't compare to DC's unique original villains. DC's villains have a lot more depth than Marvel's. With iconic villains like Lex Luthor, The Riddler, General Zod, The Penguin, Bane, Deathstroke, Ra's al Ghul and everyone's favourite; The Joker. Although it seems Batman and Superman contribute most of the great villains, that doesn't mean that they're aren't other great villains from different DC characters like Sinestro, Solomon Grundy and Black Adam. It seems like I'm ranting about how great DC's villains are so I'll just declare DC the clear winner of this round. Next is movies. This one is fairly obvious too, even if you aren't a huge comic book fan. While DC has had great movies like the Superman and Batman movies from the 70's and 80's and Christopher Nolan's critically acclaimed Dark Knight trilogy, they can't compare to Marvel's near perfect cinema record. With great Movies like The Spiderman films, Iron Man 1 and 3, the Thor movies, the Captain America movies, the X-Men series and the Avengers it's hard to see a fault in Marvel's movie making skills. With only a few bad movies like Iron Man 2 and The Wolverine versus DC's train wreck movies like Superman 3 and 4, Batman Forever and Batman&Robin, I have to give this point to Marvel. If you've lost track the score is tied at 2. Next is TV shows. Marvel doesn't seem to offer a whole lot on the small screen. With only a few shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and the upcoming Agent Carter and Daredevil, they're nothing compared to DC's armada of shows like Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, Smallville and Constantine. Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D had a slow start unlike DC's shows Arrow, The Flash and Gotham which were huge successes even in their first seasons. With DC having far better and more shows, I award the point to DC. Now finally Video Games. Marvel has had some great video games like the Deadpool game and Marvel vs. Capcom and the Lego Marvel games. But once again it seems DC has far more and better. With games like the Arkham series, Injustice and the Lego Batman series it's hard to see where DC has gone wrong with their video game development. The Arkham series alone is better than most of Marvel's games. I award the point to DC. With a score of 4 to 2 I declare DC the winner.
Tumblr. Quite possibly the most pointless, most useless and most annoying thing on the face of the earth. For the few of you who don't know what Tumblr is, I'll explain. Tumblr is a social media website where people from all over the world can "write blogs" or "express their opinion". Users can follow other user's posts or blogs. You can access it on your desktop, laptop or mobile device. Now that you know what it is, I'll explain why it's so useless, pointless etc. Tumblr is like Facebook in many ways, such as how it's used to transfer information or to socially interact with others from around the world. Those may be the only two pros of Tumblr. Sites like Facebook or Youtube can actually benefit society, unlike Tumblr. Facebook is used by businesses around the world to get their business or company out into the public eye. I have rarely seen businesses use Tumblr as a form to get information to the http://www.celebritynetworth.com/articles/celebrity/the-25-highest-earning-youtube-stars/)Tumblr offers practically none of these benefits. Tumblr is mainly used by teenage girls and lonely cat ladies. Most posts on Tumblr are about "Fandoms". These "Fandoms" are mainly just teenage girls ranting abut their favourite TV shows or movies or books. To be quite frank most posts or blogs on Tumblr are useless crap and they generally serve no purpose to society. The benefits of Tumblr are far and few between. It's a major time waster and can easily distract a person from doing something productive. In summary, Tumblr is a site that is a major time waster, provides few to no benefits to the world and is just generally pointless. public. Youtube is a site where you can learn to do just about anything by just watching instructional videos and that's just one part of Youtube. Youtube can actually be used to make money. Some Youtubers make an entire living off of just posting videos. For example, one of the most popular channels on Youtube, Smosh, has a Youtube cheque each year of 5.7 million dollars! (
